Accelerate X3 video (read)

I mean speed up the preview or vizualization speed. That is, when I watch a video that I want to trim in the timeline, I often press the "L" key to speed up the X2 video. But if I press the same button again, the X4 video accelerates. That velicity is sometimes too fast to visualize my videos. I need it to be X3. Is it possible to achieve that?

To get something more than the particular speed of a multiple J or L tap, hold down Shift then tap J or L. You get about another 10% speed change each time.
