Adobe After Effects 2023 must be installed to import this file

Hello all, 

 

For a while now I've been unable to import most of my After Effects files into Premiere and I'm met with a message saying "Adobe After Effects 2023 must be installed to import this file". When I create a new After Effects file and import that into an empty Premiere project it seems to work fine. 

 

I've tried the majority of solutions suggested such as:

Uninstalling Premiere, After Effects and even Creative Cloud and re-installing them again, updating all software, and changing the "read and write" privacy settings, nothing seems to be working at all.

Still no solution! Seems to be a bug that's not being sorted by Adobe, all of my team at work are experiencing the same issue and I must have tried everything at this point.

    Hmm, yeah I hoped that would solve it but I shut my computer down at the end of every day and this has been happening for months now.

      To check if the AE files have any issue due to any of the add-ins or plugins from external companies, as you mentioned that you are able to import a new AE file into premier, can you try importing your AE content to that new empty AE file and then import into premier?

       

      Or another option is, once you create an empty AE file and import to premier, open that imported AE file from within premier and then try importing that AE file which was not working for you.

        Update:

        Very strange but the good old fashioned restarting my computer seemed to have solved the issue. Post restart the dynamic link is working between Premiere and AE

          @Robbie300378962ec5 Were you able to get this resolved? I downloaded Premiere and AE for the very first time today and am unable to important an AE comp into Premiere with the exact same error as you. Looks like Dynamic link isnt working either
