Adobe CC 2018 (12) not available to download since 2020 (14) update

Is there a way to download the 2018 version of Premiere, Media Encoder and After Effects?

It's not available from the latest Adobe CC desktop app uder the "Older Versions" section.

It's important for our projects to stay in that version. It's the most stable version and we want to stick to it for this project.

Thank you very much.

I don't believe BlackMagic allows multiple versions installed at one time. I naturally use Resolve also but that is as far as I've ever seen only one version installed.

I've been through detailed explanations of the various things involved by the engineers. I'm comfortable with those explanations but the details are past my ability to explain in detail.

O.k, so have i and they never put any job into old versions. No more patches were released to old versions once a new major release got released. No patches for bugs, stability, support newer OS versions, etc, etc has been released to the public for old versions once a new major version got released.

That may of course have changed as of now, but i highly doubt that we will see any bug fixes and/or stability fixes or compability fixes for Catalina or compability fixes for new versions of Windows 10 for CC 2019. The focus today is solely CC 2020 for the CC subscriber.

Maybe, some fixes for those with Enterprice licenses. But for the masses, no.

One of the major drivng points in cutting down the number of versions supported was the need to improve stability. The fewer versions supported, the more they can both focus on current and forward versions and make changes to remove older code from use.

The older versions will still work on machines they were installed on, but aren't available for new or reinstalls.

Bummer, yeah at times. But I do appreciate the emphasis on stability. For example, this is a complete new version but with few new features. Nearly all development efforts went into bug fixes and performance improvements.

Don´t get me wrong here, but who said that? The older versions did never receive any bug fixes or stability fixes when a new major version were released so removing them to improve stability is wrong. For example, when CC 2018 were released no further job was done to CC 2017 or any previous versions. Adobe did never release patches to any other version/s than the most recent version. So when a new major released were dropped, all focus shifted to that version.

Wait and see, there will no more patches to CC 2019 now when CC 2020 is released. 🙂

I second that. I do understand the argument of focusing on fewer versions. Avid did almost the same in the last year. Davinci Resolve (Blackmagic) focuses on one version but they let you download former versions. The licence theory is more plausible and probably harder to justify to the customers willing to pay on monthly basis. I do know that I might not get an official answer on why it has been decided. I know that professionals rely on stable builds and needs to be informed on major changes.

Thank you for your answers by the way.

philippel95157403, the short story is that Adobe a while ago decided to remove all old Adobe apps but the two latest versions due to legal issues. So now when CC 2020 is out, CC 2018 is removed and what we got now is two versions, CC 2019 and CC 2020.

Rumors said that it was related to Dolby Digital and since there is no Dolby Digital support in the other apps you mention they can still be downloaded.

I seems only the last two major version are available.

2018 has been dropped with the release of 2020.

Ok. So why 2015/2017 is available for Photoshop or Illustrator but not 2018 for Premiere, Media Encoder and After Effects?
