I previously had a MacBook M1 with 16gb of RAM that crashed relenetlessly. Last week I dropped enogh money to buy a used Subaru on a new MacBook M3 Max 16 core w/ 128 GB of RAM. I just had a memory leak crash...again.. showing that Premiere was trying to use just north of 200 GB of RAM.
I saw another thread mentioning VSTs, which I do have installed on my computer but not running in the project. Has anyone found a real solution to this problem?
Must say it hasnt had any memory leak issues, been great in that regard. Only had one classi "adobe encountered major error" crash after having my computer on all day. Thanks for checking

Edit - I still use Premiere 21, but see people experience memory leak issues no matter what version they're using.

Hi @Dan LaDue - Can you try the latest version of Premiere Pro version 24.5 and let us know if this still happens to you. When Premiere gets into this state you can open activity monitor, double click on Premiere Pro and in the lower left hand corner select sample. It's best to do a couple of these. Can you then email them to me at jamiec@adobe.com

This is why I don't update 😂 why does every company deteriorate the user experience over time.? The new fx button on clips - good in theory, but sometimes my selects are small enough that it's not letting me click and drag the clip to where I want to on the timeline. Can this be disabled?

Hi @Dan LaDue - In the timeline panel there is a wrench menu where you can disable "Show FX Badges"

Adobe does't think about the editor who is trying to work fast for social media deadlines. You keep adding clicks to the workflow. Stuff like this and now having to click the panel button to open up the color tab instead of it being up at the top. I hate that thing. Gimme my color button back on the main screen.

I see what you want. Then you would need to enable the FX badges for that workflow. I'm sorry that the new layout if frustrating for you. Have you joined the Betas? These are great opportunities to get your feedback in.

In the Creative Cloud app there is a section labeled beta apps, this is where all of the new features are being developed. You can then comment in the community section on the new features if you like them or if you have problems with them.

Hey man overall having a good experience with the software. Recently one thing that's frustrating is my clips will have a green tint to them if the clip is being played, and it goes away if the playhead is still over a non-playing clip. Upon exporting the green tint is there. Is there something to do with premiere or the kinefinity camera file structure? Premiere image on the left and then the exported clip opened in after effects on the right in the attached image. Thanks !

What camera is the source for these clips, @Dan LaDue? Are you shooting in HDR with iPhone or Sony? Let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin
