Is anyone having issues with the 'insert" and 'overwrite' tools? Every time I try to use them, the system thinks for a while before doing the action. (I'm working in a Mac Pro, 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 Processor and 16 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 of memory)
Several people complaining about insert/overwrite or just dropping clips on timeline.
Is this with a new project?
If so I would reinstall and use cleanertool.

I was able to fix the insert and overwrite shortcut issue by making a new project and importing my projects that were created prior to the 2018 release. I hope that helps.
