All projects gone! Please Help

Hi everyone,

since yesterday all my project files (•prproj) are gone.

I haven't deleted anything rather used any clean up software. They just vanished.

All auto-save files are gone too. Restore software has not found anything.

Any idea what can be done?

The financial impact out of this is big. Please help.

One way to increase your chances of finding something is by using that drive as a data drive. So, as Averdahl was saying, don't install more software or write to that disk. If it is they OS disk, then use it as a data disk and boot to something else, like an previous OS disk or even get a small ssd and make an OS disk. I'm speaking from a PC world, so I'm not sure Macs can do this, but it is a computer, no? 🙂

Do you know where you had them before, iow on the system disk or any external disk?

If you use your file browser and search for *.prproj you should be able to find all of them unless they really are deleted.

Do you have any backups with the project files to restore?

Yes, I know where they where stored. Video files on external drive and project on internal.

I've allready searched for *.prproj and each anem tag that can relate to it.

No backups from the project file sadly and no time maschine.

It´s really odd that the recovery software don´t find anything. Did you install the recovery software after the fact or before? Or did you use a stand alone version on a USB stick? Which software did you use and did you use the latest version?

If you installed it after the fact the app may have wrote over the space on the disk where the project files were stored and thus it cannot find anything. The more you write to the system disk now will decrease a successful recovery.
