AMD Vega 64 not available in Premiere Pro / Media Encoder Render

Hello,

I have a new PC with an AMD Vega 64 GPU. I installed the Creative Cloud and started Premiere Pro. Then I noticed that I cant select a renderer inside Premiere or Media Encoder. I found some tipps with the cuda_supported-cards.txt. So I executed the GPUsniffer and created a textfile with gfx900 in it. No changes. My question now is, how can I enable the rendering with my Vega 64? I have no internal graphics card.

My system is:

OS: Windows 10 64bit

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600

GPU: Asus Strix Vega 64

Adobe Creative Cloud 2019

I found this Vega 64 GPU acceleration on Premiere Pro CS6 but the author seems to had a different problem or it depends on the CC version.

My cmd line gives me:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019>GPUSniffer.exe

Hi dennisgruendel,

It seems like an issue with the GPU driver. Please try doing a clean installation of AMD drivers and check if it's working properly.

Sumeet is probably right, there's a driver issue as the most likely culprit.

That old-style list of cards hasn't been used by Premiere since the CS6 version. None of the CC versions will even know it's there. They all simply check if there's a GPU that has the right guts to work with them, and if so, use it.

If say you change drivers, go to the Project Settings/Mercury Acceleration, and something other than "software only" is available, you'll know it's going to use your GPU for what Premiere uses the GPU for. And nothing else.

Basic "rendering" within Pr does not involve the GPU ... only things on the GPU Accelerated Effects List. Such as color work, Warp, major resizing, that sort of thing.

There's also a confusing bit in the Summary section of the Export dialog box, where for H.264 exports, it will say either "hardware acceleration" or "software acceleration" ... that has absolutely nothing whatever to do with the use of the GPU. It only deals with whether or not your CPU has the Intel QuickSync hardware installed and enabled in the BIOS.

As your CPU is AMD, it won't. So ... in the Summary Section of the Export dialog, you will probably always see "software only" listed for H.264 exports. Which again ... doesn't have anything whatever to do with GPU use for that export. Only that you don't have the Intel hardware in your CPU.

Thank you. Now it works. I thought i had already the newest driver but there was another version i tried now. The AMD Software is really helpful when it comes to such support.
