Question

Anchoring to a specific point in an audio track?

I want to lock one certain dramatic point in a music track to the start of one particular video clip.

Then do rolling edits to the video before (and after), for example to align video with other points in the music. But the audio track still stays aligned with the one (first) particular video clip I've chosen.

Is this even possible?

Thnaks in advance!

It could be that we are misunderstanding each other.  Could you possibly post a video of what is happening when you are doing this?

Rather than a video, here's a simplified diagram which hopefully explains better:

I don't think you can do that automatically. You will have to manually line things up.

Right click on the clips and click Unlink.  Move the clips to the desired positions. Then highlight the clips you want linked, right click, and choose Group.

Make sure the tracks are targeted:

Thanks Bob, only just returned to try this.

Unfortunately I can't get it to do what I want. Possibly I didn't explain clearly, possibly I didn't understand!

The three items selected in my timeline are now a Group, previously I unlinked V1/A1 of GXBB4929.MP4. I want the start of GXBB4929.MP4 to stay anchored to it's position relative to A2, no matter how I ripple-edit earlier V1/A1 clips. But unfortunately things don't stay fixed as I hoped, A2 stays fixed in the timeline instead of moving with GXBB4929.MP4.

What am I doing wrong?

Nest GXBB4929.MP4 and the audio on A2.
