Any harm in deleting media cache mid project?

I'm running into a lot of beach ball on a project. Currently the cache is saved to my computer. I want to move it to a drive. Is there any harm to deleting the entire existing media cache mid-project, or will Premiere just recreate the cache when I reopen? Similarly, any issue with moving the location of the media cache mid-project?

No, I delete media cache mid-project all the time. The only caveat is to have all projects closed when you do so. Choose File > Close all Projects (all projects then close up). Then choose Preferences > Media Cache. You can both choose the location for media cache (the disk) and delete media cache within this preference. First delete the cache: choose to delete all media cache from the subsequent dialog box. The faulty media cache will then be deleted. After, set the new media cache location.

Open said project once more, note that in the lower right corner of the UI is a progress bar showing new media cache, waveform files, etc. being recreated for you project.
