Question

Any UI for changing the motion effects (position/scale/rotation etc.)?

Is there any UI for resizing, rotating etc. for the motion effects? I really don't want to keep dragging/editing these blue numbers. If there's any UI like the text UI, that would be a lot more convenient.

Sorry guys for duplicating Neils answer, I didn't see that the page scrolled until after I had rearranged my desktop to get the screen shot. So, I didn't want to waste it.

Highlight the Motion caption in the ECP Effects Controls Panel and make sure your monitor is scaled down so you can see the edges of the frame.

Frixion,

First ... always reply in this silly forum software by clicking the blue Reply button at the top of each page. This puts all replies fully visible and in-line. Using the gray Reply text "nests" the reply in a gray box, and hides subsequent reponses unless you click "view all replies".

Most replies get buried and hard to find in those stupid nested replies.

Ok ... as to the wire-frame ... in the Program monitor panel, make sure you have a bit of room outside the monitor but inside the Program monitor panel, and then also set the Scale option drop-down in the Program Monitor's lower left corner to 10%. It should then look something like this with either clicking the word Motion or double-clicking in the Program monitor image panel.

Ann and Kevin ...

I've used that so little I forgot clean about it! Thanks for pointing that out ... refreshing the old bean is always a good thing!

That is what I said: wireframe.

Hi Frixion,

Sorry if I'm not understanding correctly, but I think you are referring to the Image Wireframe that you can drag to reposition, scale, or rotate.

  • Just double click the image in the Program Monitor.
  • You can also single click the word "Motion" in the Effect Controls panel.
  • Drag to adjust position, scale, or rotation.

Is that what you meant? Let me know.

Double clicking the image in the Program Monitor doesn't seem to do anything for me. And single clicking the Motion in effect controls just makes the motion box grey. No rectangular box appears. Could you help me with this? Thanks 🙂

No. You do need to use the input area of highlighted numbers in the Motion settings in the ECP.

No, I mean when animating motion effects, is there any UI (like the text box UI where you can drag corners of the text box to resize, rotate etc.) for the position/scale/rotation effects.

Place playhead over clip, double click in the Program window and it will produce a wireframe.

Is that what you mean?

Are you referring to Pr or Encore (as it was tagged)?

If its the latter the answer is no or use Ps.

Oops, sorry, I accidentally tagged Encore. It's about Premiere.
