Arabic Subtitles Font Breaking

Hello,

I am importing an arabic .srt file into premiere pro, but there are lines that appear between the characters.

The same problem persists even if I change the font, or the source of the .srt file.

Could anyone help fix this issue?

    Since you don't seem to have this issue, I started tweaking the caption options and it seems the problem came from the stroke. When I add captions a stroke comes in automatically. It seems the letters are treated as individuals and so their stroke appeared in between them.

    I had a similar issue. When I imported a srt file to Premiere Pro the font changed in every segment but the subtitle was created with a unique font design. So, I also woud like to get help on this issue. I am using the last version of Premiere Pro but I am not sure if it is the problem cause. Please help!

    This is an old thread using the old caption workflow and also a different text engine. I suggest you post a new thread. In addition to the PR version you are using, include your operating system and what font(s) you've tried. A screenshot of your caption track, program monitor, and essential graphics panel might also help.

    I am seeing the same problem (a stroke of even 1 results in a small break between characters) and workaround (zero stroke results in continuous flow between characters).

     

    What specific dot version of PR are you running? (I don't know that it matters; just always good to track this.)

     

    What font are you using? I don't know if it matters or not. When I import the srt from Rita_CH, I get arabic characters, but my caption panel says "Time New Roman." If I change it to Adobe Arabic, I get the same problem/workaround.

    At the bottom of the caption window, you'll find the caption import settings.
    In the dialogue box set the edge width to 0.

    After making the adjustment import your srt file again.

    That's how I fixed the issue for myself I hope it works for you as well.

    Hi Rita, 

    I have the exact same issue with the Persian fonts, we did exactly what you suggested but it didn't fix.

    I'm not sure if this is something with Windows as we don't have this issue on ios. Also, my caption is not set format and it's an open caption.
    I would appreciate it if you can advise,

    In your screenshot, I see the little black notches.

    I do not see them when I import the srt and place in a sequence.

    I increased the font size.

    Does the pixel size match the sequence?

    Can you post the srt?

    I don't see "lines" in your screenshot.

    I tried but I am not able to attache the srt file. I'm getting an error saying that the file content type doesn't match its extension.
