Greetings. I'm cutting a sequence in premier, and use an Avid Artist Mix regularly. I was excited to learn that I could use it with Premiere, and thought I could do a quick mix pass on my sequence. However, it seems that the automation written to the tracks does not travel with the clips. Is there a way to make this happen? Often, editors share sequences, and end up copying edited material from multiple sequences into another. It is unfortunate for the mix to be blown away overtime this happens. Can the automation be copied separately? Forgive me, but in this current state, this entire feature is rather useless. I do hope I'm missing something.

Track automation is related to the track rather than the clip, so you're correct the automation keyframes don't copy with the clip.

I understand this. This is a serious problem. This entire feature is useless as a result, and has waisted a lot of my time. There is no point in having track automation, or two different ways to automate if the automation doesn't follow your selection movements. Pro Tools, Media Composer, Final Cut, every other software that I know of understands this. This needs to be fixed immediately.

adobe.com/go/wish - they're not mind readers, nor are they (for the most part) forum readers!
The artist mix is a great bit of kit (as is the artist colour) but there are precious few using it, even with Media Composer (where the implementation requires it be used in automation record - in itself a PiTA)

I find fader automation in Premiere very hit and miss, I now send the sequence to Audition where it just works.

Clip mixer keyframes are attached to clips, track mixer keyframes are not. Can you set Artist mix to control clip mixer? It may be that it controls whatever window is selected. You do have to enable keyframes on the clip mixer (diamond icon above fader for that track)
