Audio cutting on import

I'm editing a video and adding seperate audio files, but for some reason everytime I import an audio file it is cutting off the last 3 or 4 seconds of audio and wont let me extend it. The audio works fine outside of premiere but as soon as it is imported cuts off. Very frustrating, any ideas?

FIX!  Many threads since 2013, well done Adobe.  I fixed the issue by going to a free online audio converter, converting the already perfectly fine audio, and then reimporting it.

October 2025, and I'm having the same issue with v25.5.0(Build 13).
The bad news, I do not have the rights to install any software on the company computer. 😞

Hi! I'm having the same problem, did you fix it?

I'm using Premiere Pro 2022 version 22.6.0 for Windows.

Ok so in another comment someone says to export the audio from Audition in a WAV format and that worked. I was exporting it as MP3.

Hi matthewf56306997!

Sorry about that. Which OS do you have? Also, let us know the version of Premiere Pro.

What's the source of the audio files?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Kartika

Try opening the files in Audition and saving a new copy. Don't overwrite the original.
