Audio Exports Extremely Slow M1 Max/Premiere Pro 24.2

Hi,

Hoping for some help/insights, please. I'm trying to export interview audio from Multicam timelines. Interviews typically run to 90 minutes in length. In the past, I have found Premiere very quick to export audio. However, currently I'm experiencing encode times as long as 30-45 minutes per timeline.

Source footage: MXF OP1a / Sony FS7.

I've tried:

- Encoding to wav

- Encoding to mp3

- Copying audio to a new timeline, exporting from there

- Exporting via the prem export interface

- Exporting via AME

All to no avail. Any suggestions, please?

Thanks.

How many tracks does the camera original have?  I've had different issues with sony footage that natively has 8 tracks of audio...   It may be possible to change this on the camera, but never had the opportunity to talk to the camera people before a shoot...  But if it does have 8 channels, maybe try selecting the clips, control clicking and choose interpret: audio and just make the necessary audio channels available.   Also, if this was working better in a previous version of Premiere, you can revert to that version...  at this point Adobe only makes 2 versions of Premiere available, but might be worth trying to install Premiere 23 and see if that helps.  One of the great features of Premiere is that you cann have multiple versions of the program installed on your system.  Just make sure you don't have "delete previous install" enabled or however it's worded. when you install it.  If you need help with any of this and if I'm not clear (it happens), post back.

What are the hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I'm working from a Samsung T7, 2TB, conected via USBC. It's around 3/4 full, containing all footage and project files (PP, AE etc).

That may be your bottleneck.
