Audio muted on one project only

I've been using Premiere Pro for a few years and am a decent intermediate user.  Today I was working on a project and all of a sudden the audio stopped playing. I can see wave forms in the audio clips in my timeline and in the audio track mixer, but I don't see the wave forms on the small audio viewer I have next to my timeline.  I have several other ongoing Premiere Pro projects that I haven't made changes to today, and those projects still have working audio. I'm pretty sure this is some sort of user error where I inadvertently toggled a button on or off, but I've been searching online for several hours and can't find what I might have done. I would greatly appreciate any ideas you have for me.

Hi Karen,

It sounds like an issue specific to that project or timeline. Here are a few things to check:

1. Timeline: Make sure none of your tracks are soloed or muted.
2. Audio Track Mixer: Ensure none of your audio tracks, including the Mix track, have their volume sliders turned down.

If the issue persists, try copying your clips into a new sequence.

    Thanks. It's definitely an issue specific to this one timeline, but nothing is muted and the volume sliders are in the correct position. I started a new project using these same files and I have audio in the new project, so I've abandoned the old one and am moving on with the new one. I wish I could have figured it out though. 🙂 I appreciate the time you took to respond.

    I'm experiencing the same thing.  And I'm pretty sure it's a user error for me, too, since I had sound when I started working on the project but then lost it.  In the new project, sound is fine.  

    I've been searching for an answer for nearly an hour and I can't find any fixes!

    An additional note: There is audio when I play the clip in the source monitor, but no audio when I play the clip in the timeline.
