Question

Audio preview error Premiere Pro 2023

Im editing a 40 min podcast, and when I reproduce the video (in the timeline with the preview) the audio cuts off. It keeps going on and off while I reproduce the video. Is not my headphones or speakers, I already check those.

Hey Luis,

Sorry for the issue. Is the media you're editing screen recorded? If so, it might be variable frame rate media. You can transcode VFR media using Handbrake. Replace the media on Timeline with the transcoded media, and let us know how it goes. If you're not working with screen recordings, please share more details about your source files, and let us know what types of effects and plugins you're using (if any).

Thanks,

Ishan

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, sorry the late response. The media its not screen recorded, all the media are Quick Time Video Files (.mov) and the audio in those files are stereo sound, 189 kbps bit rate and 48.000kHz. Im currently not using any plugins or effects in the audio files on premiere. Still the audio keeps going on and offwhen its played in the program. It happens mostly when there are more than one audio file, like if I keep the audio of the 3 cameras at the same time. But even with only one audio file from one of the source files. The audio keeps cuting off sometimes.

Thanks for getting back to us! Are you working in a Multicam Sequence? Do you see the audio drop in the exported video as well, or is it only present while previewing? If you only see the issue while previewing, and it exports as expected, try setting your Input Device to No Input (Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware) and let us know if that makes a difference. Please share the source file properties if possible (Project Panel > Right-click on source file > Properties) and let us know if you're working on a Windows or a macOS system. This will help us better understand the problem.
