Audio Problem PP 2025 Project Panel vs Editing Panel

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2024 Nov 07, 2024

When I uploaded my raw video file into the project panel, the left and right audio can be seen on audio timeline and when you hear the sound it comes through both the left and right speakers. But when I drop the file from the project panel into the editing panel, the left and right audio can still be seen on the audio timeline, however when I press play the sound only comes out of the left speaker on my computer. I have tired to look up YouTube how to videos (fill left to right and fill right to left Audie effect, stereo to mono etc), but nothing has worked yet. Any direction would be much appreciated.

Actually, there is that little 4 in your screengrab.

As Neil mentioned, your screenshot shows that this is a sequence created from one of the Broadcast presets. You can also confirm this by the number of channels in your Audio Meters.

Screengrabs of your sequence, including the header control block on the left, would be handy. Drag/drop the clips directly into the text reply area.

Thanks for your response, I have attached two screenshots below to help get to the bottom of this problem.

Are you working in a Broadcast sequence preset? This setting can pan your audio to discrete channels.

You can confirm this by checking two things in the timeline:

  1. There is a single speaker icon in the track header (indicating a mono track).
  2. If you scroll to the bottom, the Mix track will have a '4' next to it.

If this is the case, select all your clips in the timeline and drag them onto the New Item button (document icon) in the Project panel. This will add them to a new Stereo sequence.

Hi Paul,

I really appreicate your response, I am not working in a broadcast sequence. In reagrds to point 2, there is no '4' next to the mix track (see screenshot attached).

Thanks,

Bec
