Audio Quality Poor in Premiere 2025

Question

The audio playback quality in Premiere Pro 2025 seems poor compared to previous versions of Premiere. Can you explain why this might be happening? It is within the software during playback - I don't really notice it once it's exported. The audio in 2025 sounds way more compressed, with less dynamic range across frequencies - the bass is almost nonexistent.

I am in Version 25.0.0 (Build 61)

I am comparing against 24.6.3 (Build 4)

Any ideas of automatic settings that Premiere 2025 might be applying to make the audio sound so poor in quality?
