Audio waveform not showing on timeline Premier Pro 2024

Question

I tried all of the fixes listed in earlier posts but nothing is working.   I am missing the waveform completely.  It's making things really difficult.   Tried "Render Audio Waveform"  nope, doesn't work.   Tried Edit>Preferences>Audio.  Didn't see anything about the waveform.   Help?

I'm not familiar with "Render Audio Waveform". Maybe that was just Render Audio from the sequence menu? That almost always them back, at least until you quit and restart. I should say, that is on Multi-cam sequences typically. Are yours nested or multi-cam sequences you are having issues with? What version of PP. As there was a major change in timeline appearance in version 24.4.
