Audio won't move tracks with video

I've got video clips with audio on my timeline. When I move a video clip from track 1 to track 2, the audio should also move to audio track 2 so that I can move the clip along the timeline without overwriting another clips audio. This no longer happens. The audio track stays on track 1. The workaround is obviously to move the audio clip to track 2 first then move the video portion. As I'm sure many of you are aware, this really slows down my workflow and often forces me to adjust my timeline zoom.  Very inconvenient.

Wouldn't it be nice if Adobe actually had support. I've got another thread I started over a year ago with still no solution and regularly seeing users reply with the same problem. Since Google got support, Adobe is now the only platform I am PAYING for which has no customer support. This is honestly deplorable and needs to change. The frequency with which I have a problem, cannot find any solution online and then have to devise my own time-consuming workaround is really getting out of hand. @Adobe needs to start caring about its customers.

*end rant*

the audio should also move to audio track 2

It used to work like that many moons ago.

but on many requests that changed.

Select clip and move the video part to the place you want it to be. Dont let go and now hold down ctrl+shift and drag audio to desired track.

It really shouldn't, not by itself.  You may not have any audio on A2.  That won't be true for every editor, every project.

An NLE should do only what the editor tells it to do, not just assume what the editor wants.

I wouldn't expect it to but it used to do that for me.

Thank you!!! I spent an hour and a half on chat with Adobe Tech Support only for them to reset my preferences and tell me my processor isn't supported >_<

For anyone curious how to get chat for tech support you open one with sales and ask for tech support. That being said, it doesn't seem like they know what they're doing.
