Automation Blocks - Effects, Presets, Nesting and Time
I'm time poor and think automation blocks could be a fruitful investment. I'm hoping to understand if my use-case is feasable and get a leg-up in creating scripts that I can implement.
I lose a lot of time in performing repetitive tasks on the timeline. Premieres order of operations requires lots of nesting in relation to effects, warp stabilizer, time remapping etc. A lot of what I do is a variation on the following:
- Insert clip from source (w I/O points)
- Apply Warp Stabilizer preset
- Hit analyze
- Nest
- Add a zoom in/out with scale parameter
- Apply speed adjustment or speed ramp preset (or at least the keyframes to do so).
Variations of this can be: nesting, reversing, then nesting AGAIN (keyframe paramaters become useless post-speed adjustment requiring a "pre-compose")
If all of this could be completed with one click or a keyboard shortcut it would be a lifesaver.
I understand from other threads that applying a user preset may not be possible directly. What if I have a template sequence containing clips with those presets already applied and simply tell AB to grab the attributes from a specific clip in that template sequence and apply them (& scaling attribute times)?
There are plenty of other ideas I'd like to implement but this would be a good start. I'd be happy investing in 1-on-1 consulting to help bring some of these ideas to fruition and share the results as the time savings would bring significant value. Other editors in my industry using premiere would benefit greatly and if I bring on more editors it's something I'd get them to implement also.
Thanks for taking the time!
