avi files and third party Codecs

New Here ,
Jun 06, 2024 Jun 06, 2024

I have some older Premiere Pro projects that I did using avi files. Premiere Pro does not seem to support avi anymore for editing.  Is there a 3rd party codec I could use?  I do not want to have to use another video format such as mp4 to have to redo these projects.

Thanks

Lane

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Premiere Pro supports avi.

Note that avi is not a codec, but a container that can support many different codecs.
