Basic RED Source Settings Question

Hi RED users out there,

I think this is a very basic question. I want to color correct my RED Footage inside Premiere. So I switch to the master tab inside the effect controls to get access to the RED source settings. Now here is the thing. Out of one Red File, I use different shots. If I change something like colors or brightness it will effect all of the other shots in that file and so my corrections will always fit just for one shot.

How can I copy & paste these RED source settings from the master tab on to all other shots, so I can correct each of them individually in the regular clip effect controls?

Thanks a lot for helping out.

I see your point.

In that case the only option I can think of is to duplicate your clips in the project, but your project might get messy pretty fast.

I think the best option is to make the roundtrip to Resolve. Premiere isn't built for grading. It's just an additional feature.

I wouldn't recommend using the RED master tab for grading individual shots.

Make a good base grade with the master tab that suits all shots, secondary adjustments can be done by using the Lumetri tab. It's quite powerfull.

Hi ApexAV,

as an example: I have various files like these: The DOP is filming an airplane up in the sky, then he turns the camera on to a person that is standing on a street. Two completely different shots in one file. Adjusting something like brightness becomes quite hard. What I'm editing atm is a documentary, so nothing is really planed. Unexpected things are just happening.

You know some people say, that Lumetri color correction is not as good as the in camera color correction. Have a look at this guy:

What is your opinion on that?
