Hello, i would like to change the direction of the mouse wheel, when i scrolling the time line for cutting and viewing.

Since a update Premiere is now Playing opposite (when i scroll down the frames no go forward)

I would like to choose the behavior with a simple option. Pleas Update this Adobe!

Simply let the user decide that how he wants.

Thank You

I am a PC user, but I have a Macbook that I use more frequently for editing. I have gotten used to the act of scrolling up to advance frames using my mac, and it's the opposite on PC. I've been using it myself for years as well, so I would like to have the ability to switch this function as well, as it can be frustrating when key-framing.

You should unlearn that.  Scrolling down will advance in pretty much all software.  (Unless your Mac is set up backwards, which is the default and generally not available on Windows.)

In other words, Macs come out of the box wrong, and must be manually corrected before use.

Not sure if this was ever answered.  My mouse scroll changed after I updated Premiere.  After a couple of hours of scouring the internet I found this on my own.

    on Mac

click Premier Pro CC => Preferences => Timeline

Not sure if this is what you're looking or not.

Bless you. I know I'm not the OP - but you just solved my problem and kept the remainder of my hair on the scalp LOL

Please add this option (to reverse mouse) in settings.

The mouse wheel operation on PPro2018 on my Win10 Pro machine is backwards.  i.e. the correct way it is supposed to work (and does on Win7 Ultimate) is you rotate the mouse forward (away from you) and the frame advances forward toward the end of the timeline.   You rotate the mouse wheel back towards the user and the playhead should move to the left or backwards to the start of the timeline.

Currently on my new Win10 Pro machine, if you rotate the mouse forward the playhead is moving backwards to the start of the timeline.   You rotate it backwards, toward the user, it moves the playhead forward.

Now, I don't know if this is Win10 Pro causing the problem or now.  I am running the exact same version of PPro2017 on both Win7 and Win10. Win7 is correct.  Win10 is not!

In any case there needs to be a option in PPro to reverse the operation!!

What is interesting is that, if I push my mouse wheel left the playhead moves left (toward the start of the timeline) and if I move it to the right then it moves the playhead towards the end of the timeline.   Same with the source and program monitors.   Both work exactly the same in both Win7 and Win10.

I'm still using 2017.1.2, but it is scrolling correctly now, unlike it was when I posted the video above.

Think of it like this. Scrolling down (wheel towards you, say on this page) brings you towards the bottom of this page (eventually you reach the end of the page), same with the way PP scrolls now, timeline, source and program monitor all scroll (down) towards the end of the video and up (scroll away from you) scrolls towards the top of the page and thus the top / beginning of the video. The version I mentioned above is doing it all correctly now on Win10.

Yeah.. that's backwards.  i.e. you should (as it was correctly before)

scroll forward and you go forward in time on the timeline. You scroll

backwards and you go backwards in time on the timeline.

My Win7 machine is still doing this correctly.  My new Win10 machine is

the one now that has it backwards.  All other panels work with the mouse

    wheel as expected.

Well Ann, you can continue trying to be right, or just simply say there is a problem with it, or how about an inconsistency. That's not so hard. Thanks Jim for saying it's backwards... strange behavior. As a programmer, typically moving the mouse is a basic event and you can pass in a parameter to say which way to move... It would be pretty basic to give an option for that. Otherwise, maybe Ann can agree, the mac and PC should work the same.

OK then, glad you agree: "That is definitely backwards."

This is how its been on Windows for many versions (at least cs6).

Edit: program monitor scrolls wrong (did not know it had audio, very soft).

Adobe did change scrolling direction at one point but I don't remember which version.

    Mac scrolls just the opposite.

Sorry i am not an Native english speaker.

All i say is that it would like to choose the Frame Playback direction when using the scroll wheel.

Scroll down: Play Forward or Backward. I use this very often to find the exact frame to cut.

Before it was Backward i am used to this and i cant adapt to the new behavior.

    Thank You

That does seem backwards. I don't use it, but I see your point. Whenever you scroll down arrow, like in a Word document, or any document, you go towards the end... up brings you towards the top (beginning) of the document.

I bet it is related to the new Keyboard shortcuts. And we are missing all the normal Windows / Default behavior in the numeric keypad with num look OFF.

when i scroll down the frames no go forward

Your grammar is a bit odd there.  Are you saying that scrolling down goes backwards (to the left)?
