Question

Best way to use purchased lower third template multiple times in one project

I have a purchased lower third Premiere Pro template that I am using for a client for whom I produce multiple videos using the same graphics. I edit all their videos out of the same project, as I use many common assets for each video that I produce.  When it comes to using the lower third template, however, the only way I can change the text and adjust the elements to the text length without having it change in all previous created sequences, is to create the lower third and export it as a video file, and use that as my lower third in the sequence. This is very inefficient. What I would love to do is to somehow create a .Mogrt from this template. Is there a way to do this? From what I have found, the only way to export a .Mogrt from Premiere is from a single graphics track. My template has many tracks. Can I move it into AE and keep the tracks discreet and then export as a .Mogrt from there? My attempts at this so far have failed. Any help on making this workflow more effecient would be appreciated!

It's hard to say about making it a .mogrt template because I don't know how it was built. If it was built in Premiere with nests, I don't know how well it would translate to AE.

What you can do is just import the template again for each new title you need to create and that should eliminate the nesting issue you're facing. Be diligent with naming.

Yeah, that solution would be my last resort. The template has about 10 different lower thirds on it, so I have to do some navigation to get to that text. I know it's not a huge deal, but I  just love how quick and easy the Essential Graphics templates work, and am determined to get this in there if I have to rebuild the thing myself! Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, the .mogrts are nice. It'll be worthwhile to invest the time up front if it's something you'll use a lot.

I'm sure there are lots of these out there but here's a tutorial I followed at one point to learn about making the .mogrt template: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG7m3j1X9hQ

Again, I have no idea how well your existing template will translate to AE since it sounds like it was made for Premiere.
