Black ProRes 4444 export from Premiere and Media Encoder

Suddenly Premiere an Media Encoder started exporting ProRes 4444 as black films.

I've used the same export preset that i've used for years so it's really odd.

ProResHQ and H264 works fine.

Seems to be an issue with ProRes 4444.

Tested with my ProRes422HQ preset that renders films that looks just fine - and only changed to 4444 = Black renders

The clips are black in Quicklook and Quicktime.

Can play them in VLC and they work fine in AE, Premiere and Resolve.

I've uppgraded Premiere, AE, Resolve to the latest versions and MacOS (Monterey 12.7.6).

Uninstalled Adobe Beta apps.

Cleared Media Cache in Premiere.

Even tried with projects that didn't have any issues and i've delivered - now black renders.

Super annoying.

My colleagues also see my renders as black clips in Quicktime but can import them in Premiere, Resolve, VLC and so on.

Anyone have had the same problem?!

AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo 32 GB
Monterey 12.7.6
Premiere Pro 24.6.1

there is a bug in Premiere with some Arri cams where the camera has been underslung (rotated 180) a meta data flag is applied and this makes it go black in Premiere. You can fix this in some arri tools or just re-render out those clips in another app

Thanks, what actually fixed it for me was updating Premiere. They released a new version around this time and after the update, the issue was gone. Thanks for the input!

I'm having the exact same problem- super annoying as I have to deliver this to a colorist & client ASAP and I've never seen this issue before.

I tried your fix via GPU Acceleration option but that didn't fix it in my case, any help appreciated.

Don't know if it's a solution but when i changed:

File>Project Settings>General>Video Rendering and Playback

from the recommended:

"GPU Acceleration (Metal)"

to:

"Software Only" -

I can now render ProRes4444 that is not just a black clip.

Can add that I have no problems rendering 4444 from Resolve!
