Black screen goes on and on. Why?

My clip is only about 40 seconds long but the exported video runs for an additional 29 seconds of black screen. Why?

Neil, I found the problem ... a stray audio track fragment, invisible on

the lower level of the screen, had wandered waaaay down the block. Thanks
