Blackmagic Raw to Edit in Premiere

I am editing raw footage shot on Blackmagic and changed the codec using Davinci Resolve. i shot on anamorphic so I also needed to desqueeze the footage before exporting the files.  I want to make sure I’m using the right presets for best results for Editing in Premier.

I chose Prores preset codec and “ultra hd“ output.  the files are still huge - is this the best way to go about editing my project? Or is there a better way with smaller file sizes???

As to the frame-size issue, setting that for the frame-size of the original of course is best to preserve pixel quality.

As to the rest of your question ... it's a pick-two situation.

You cannot have high quality, great playback, and smaller file-size at the same time. As you really need both the quality and playback to edit ... well, your choice is pretty much made for you.

Editing quality media in quality workflows in this day & gear, takes drive space. TONS of drive space.
