Blending Modes Non-responsive

Premiere 23.2.0 

 

Blending Modes are nonresponsive, and applying a blending mode also makes the Opacity non-responsive.

Yeah, there's nothing underneath the layer to "blend" it with. Add a layer underneath and then try different modes and opacity.

Might want to put a clip/image underneath.

Thanks, I thought it would blend with the black. Why doesn't he opacity respond within those blend modes?

There is no background, it's a void and shows as black.

 

If you want it to blend with black, put a black color matte underneath.

Only a few blend modes will work with black. You need to use color.
