Bluetooth headphones don't give me clear audio

So I recently purchased a pair of bluetooth headphones specifically to use with Adobe Premiere when I am editing late at night. Unfortunately, the audio I receive from the bluetooth headphones is very distorted and poppy whenever I use them in Adobe Premiere. However, when I switch to another program, like iTunes, or steam music from Pandora I get a much richer sound. What am I doing wrong? (Note, when I switch to my earbuds, the problem is not there anymore, just when I use my bluetooth headphones)

Correct answer VHBingham

I had to turn off the In value on the Bluetooth headset.

If your Bluetooth headphones are not providing clear audio, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and improve the audio quality:

  1. Check for Interference: Bluetooth signals can be affected by interference from other wireless devices or obstacles like walls. Ensure that there are no other Bluetooth devices in close proximity that might be interfering with your headphones.

  2. Bluetooth Range: Make sure you are within the recommended Bluetooth range for your headphones and the device you are connecting to. Moving closer to the source can help improve signal strength and audio quality.

  3. Update Firmware/Drivers: Check if there are firmware updates available for your headphones. Manufacturers often release updates to improve performance and address issues.

  4. Battery Level: Low battery levels in your headphones can sometimes result in reduced audio quality. Ensure that your headphones are adequately charged before use.

  5. Clean Earbuds/Headphones: Dirt or debris in or around the earbuds or headphone drivers can affect sound quality. Clean them carefully using a soft brush or cloth to remove any buildup.

  6. Adjust Sound Settings: On your paired device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), check the audio settings. Make sure the equalizer settings are appropriate for your preferences, and consider adjusting the bass, treble, or balance to improve clarity.

  7. Try a Different Device: Connect your Bluetooth headphones to a different device to see if the audio quality issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with your headphones or the device you are connecting to.

  8. Check for Signal Interference: Ensure there are no nearby devices emitting strong wireless signals, such as Wi-Fi routers or cordless phones, which could interfere with your Bluetooth connection.

  9. Reset Headphones: Consult your headphone's user manual to see if there's a way to reset them to their default settings. This can sometimes resolve connectivity or audio issues.

  10. Try Wired Connection: If your headphones have a wired option, try connecting them to your device using a wired connection. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the Bluetooth connection.

  11. Update Device Software: Ensure that the device you're connecting to has the latest software updates installed. Sometimes, updating your smartphone or tablet's operating system can resolve Bluetooth-related issues.

  12. Contact Customer Support: If none of the above steps improve the audio quality, reach out to the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance or to inquire about potential warranty-related issues.

If these steps don't resolve the problem and your headphones are still under warranty, consider contacting the manufacturer or the retailer where you purchased them for a replacement or repair. It's possible that there may be a hardware issue that needs attention.

In case it helps anyone,  I had the same issue and my Bluetooth headset showed up twice in the input and output fields.

I had to choose the "System Default" for both which then allowed me to select a higher sample rate 44100.

I Solved it!

Preferences > Audio Hardware > Make sure your Default Input isn't the Bluetooth device.  Select "Bulit-in Microphone'.  > Default Output Select your Bluetooth Device.

Klc: Does that fix your problem?

I'm having the exact same problem. I have fiddled with the majority of audio hardware settings to no avail. I also have a mac mini, so I am unable to select anything for the input, other than my bluetooth headphones. The audio not only distorts in premiere, but if premiere is running in the background, it distorts all audio.

Once I close premiere, the audio will go back to normal. The sound of the distortion reminds me of 40s radio broadcasts.

All I can think to suggest is to use wired cans plugged into the system speakers.
