Can I change a sequence from 5.1 to stereo?

I have created a sequence and did not notice it was 5.1 until I had made a lot of video edits and now it is doubling my stereo audio.

I can solo the first two tracks in the audio meter but is there a way to just convert this sequence to stereo?

I am afraid if I render it, it will do something funky with my audio.

The Master Audio track of a sequence cannot be changed. You'll have to create a new sequence and copy/paste everything into it.
