Hi! I've been using Premiere Pro for a while, but I had a problem with my graphics card, and now I'm using an old one. I want to know if there will be any issues using the program or if I can use it without GPU acceleration.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB of RAM, and now I've installed an NVIDIA GeForce GT 710, which is an old GPU I had stored since my main one got damaged. I'll be using this one until I can replace it.

Thank you!

Does Premiere Pro run with the GT710 installed?

What version of Premiere Pro?

Using old hardware can introduce another set of headaches.

The Gefore 710 still has drivers on the NVidia web site but this card was released in 2014 !. So using this card may not give you much (if any) improvement over just using CPU Software rendering. You can run some tests if Premiere recognises the card.

If you are serious about moving forward with Premiere Pro I would upgrade your system motherboard, CPU and GPU when budget permits.  I think 16GB Ram is also a bit marginal, depending on what footage and complexity of projects you plan in the future as well.

First of all, thanks for responding. I know the specs are a bit limited. I use the program to cut videos and export them to my computer in short segments (around 15 seconds each), which I use in another program.

I know the GeForce GT 710 is old—I installed it just to keep my computer running while I try to buy something better since I'm a bit low on budget right now. That's why I wanted to know if it's possible to use it even without hardware acceleration or if I should just give up until I can upgrade

Budget is an issue for everyone !

Did Premiere recognise the card?. Peru Bob (in discussion thread) also asked what version of Premiere you have - useful to know this, plus Windows version 64 bit ?

As I mentioned, you can get a 2024 driver download from Nvidia website  for this card Version 475.14

https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/drivers/results/

As suggested, try without GPU CUDA in Project settings run a render test on some more complex effects and then same test with CUDA selected . What is best result?.
