Can Premier Pro find moved video files?

Hello, I was wondering as it has always been a worry of mine as when you move a video clip to another file, after adding it to a Pr Pro document it cannot find the video clip and can Pr Pro find the video clip in another file or do you have to manually find it? Or do you lose all the editing you have done on that video clip and have to start over?

Thanks,

When you import any clips (files) into Premiere, it creates a link to the file itself.

If the file is then moved to another location, Premiere will show it as missing when you open your project. In the dialogue box that comes up you can search for your file and Premiere can even search your entire hard drive (slow but can do it) to find it as long as the file name hasn't changed. That's what Locate button does.
