Can Premiere host both a .mov file and an .mp4 file at the same time?

Sorry, I'm so new to this. Working more than one video file into a project. Can Premiere host both a .mov file and an .mp4 file at the same time?  Or do I have to convert one or both of them to the same file format?

Short answer is yes it can. You can throw many different video formats into your project and Premiere will work with them just fine. (Unless you have an older or incompatible file format which it doesn't sound like you have here.)
