Can't change caption text

In the screenshot, I'm trying to change the word 'hi', to 'hey', and each time i make the change, it doesn't retain, it just keeps going back to the old text. This has never happened before. Any ideas?

Can you find the specific caption in the Timeline? Is the caption track locked? If you select it in the timeline, are you able to edit it directly in the Program Monitor?
