PrPro assigns the numbers to the workspaces, and as it has a couple that it makes that I don't use much, I'd like to be able to use their numbers so I could make a couple of my custom spaces have a keyboard shortcut.
It has Alt+Shift+ 1-9, which are all in use on my current editing rig, but though I occasionally use the Assembly workspace, I'd love to be able to de-number it.
But I can't find any way to change the number that PrPro assigns to a workspace.
Ideas, anyone?

I never realized this, but Premiere doesn't show the Workspaces in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.
Worse, while testing, I assigned Alt+Shift+1 to something else, and Premiere very kindly moved ALL my workspace shortcuts up a number, so Assembly now starts at Alt+Shift+2! Of course, with no way for me to reassign Alt+Shift+1 back to Assembly.
Removing the Alt+Shift+1 assignment did not cause Premiere to realize it was free and move everything back down to normal, so I guess I'm stuck with this new scheme until I decide to reset my preferences.
Looks like one for the feature request / bug report form.

Wow ... that's fascinatingly frustrating! So, we can cause them to alter, BUT ... can't control the final result ... yuck!
I take it that Alt-Shift-1 is now just ... nothing?

Yes, it's free now. I guess I can repurpose it to something I use more often, considering I don't really use the Workspace shortcuts anyway.

I'm still using 2017.01, but Alt-Shift-1 brings up the All Panels Workspace
Alt-Shift+
2=Assembly
3= audio
4=color

6=effects
7=libraries
8=meta
9=titles
I just checked now, and I think you can assign them, look for 'workspace1', 'workspace2', etc... or search for "shift+1"

You should ignore my original post because I was too hasty with my research. For some reason I can't edit the post either to mark it as bad info.
As MyerPJ has rightly pointed out, Alt+Shift+1 is indeed All Panels by default, not Assembly. Assembly was always Alt+Shift+2, and Premiere did not move my shortcuts around at all. Sorry for the misdirection.
