Question

Can you create ‘Gated Reverb’ effect in Premiere Pro?

Specifics: My friend wants a reel made for his streaming channel and I wanted to edit what clips I've mustered to some really good 80s music (in a fun montage style). There is a moment in the footage I have where he claps several times and my plan is to speed ramp the clapping to sync the clip to the music but I want to replace the audio from the clip and replace it with clapping sound effects I've recorded myself (so it fits the song better and has no background noise)

However I want to apply 'gated reverb' to the clapping sounds I've recorded but I don't know how to do it personally and I was wondering if there are any steps-by steps anyone might be able to provide  to help create this effect in premiere pro. And if not Premiere Pro maybe other software in the creative cloud? I have the full subscription so I can use anything to do it. Thanks for your help

You can use VST Plugins in Premiere, so read a tutorial on how to create that Phil Collins Gated Reverb Snare sound and re-create it using (free) VST effects.

You might find a gated reverb effect or you can combine the reverb and noise gate effects yourself. Just play around with the level, attack, release etc.

I would use Audition, head over to their forum and re-ask your question.
