You can select a bunch of audio and video clips on a timeline, right click and select nest and these clips will be replaced by one single sequence.
Can you, at a later time (cannot undo), change your mind and select this nested sequence and issue an "unnest" command to get back the bunch of clips?
Especially after this nested sequence has been cut into many shorter clips.

There is no real un-nest commend.
But you can drag the nest from the project window as individual clips into the main timeline.

Ann is of course correct, there is no direct unnest command.
But i'm not sure you need one.
When sequences are added to the timeline they are added aas nests because of the Insert and Overwirte Sequences as Nests or individual Clips switch, it's the first button under the playhead position at the upper left of your timeline.
If you turn the switch off and drag a sequence into your Timeline, it will come in as invidicual clips.
That might work for what you want.
