Cannot Drag Source Clips to Timeline

As per the title, cannot drag source clips to the timeline. I've been using Premiere for years and it's never done this. Last bug was the markers not showing up in the source clips window (that must've got patched because it now works properly). Tried the usual stuff, deleting preferences, and even re-installed - still doesn't work - anyone else getting this?

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

I don't see any track headers, as the sequence hasn't been created (as I cannot drag a clip into it to start the sequence). However, I CAN drag a piece of video from the media browser into the timeline, which then starts the sequence. I can then drag clips from the source panel into the timeline. It's pretty weird. Usually, I start the sequence with the first clip from the source panel. I have put together hundreds of videos, and it's never worked like this before.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'd already reset the preferences, and even re-installed, but that didn't fix the problem. I then tried your suggestions: 1. Reset the Workspace (that didn't work) 2. Reset the Audio Hardware input to NONE - and that fixed it - how bizarre is that?!
All these years, I've been dragging my clips from source to timeline, without a problem. I've since learned how to create sequences in other ways, but I'm come to the conclusion this is a BUG! Many thanks for your help, and Happy Xmas!

What are your track header controls set to? Screengrabs would help, drag/dropped onto the text reply box.
