I use a Newtek Tricaster to record .mov video files.
For the past month or so I am getting a notice when attempting to import into Preimere Pro Ver 14.2.0 build 47 --
Notice says "this file uses unsupported compression SHQ2"
Did this happen during an upgrade? Does Preimere Pro no longer recognize .mov files?
I have attempted to re-encode using Media Encoder but it only outputs an audio file.
What process do I use to get Premiere to recognize .mov files?
Thank You,
Don
Premiere Pro reads .mov files, but .mov is only a container.
That said, my guess is that Premiere doesn't support the SHQ2 codec, at least not natively, which I'm not very familiar with but after some quick and non-thorough Googling, seems to be a proprietary codec for the Newtek Tricaster?
Stumbled across this though and you may be able to download a codec pack for SHQ2: https://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php/152300-SHQ2-Codec?p=1492194&viewfull=1#post1492194
