Cannot Open .m4v file on Mac

Community Beginner ,

Hello Adobe Support Community,

So I exported a video as an .m4v file and when it's done exporting, there's the .m4v file but it does not play. Instead, it opens the 'friendly streaming' app which leads to nothing. I'm not sure how to open this .m4v file and would appreciate your help!

Thanks

Can you post a pic of your export settings?

Do you need the extension to be .m4v? Or can you use a different format?

The only things I changed were the format and preset. I changed the format to H.264 Blu-ray and HD 720p 23.976. I need the extension to be a blu ray file.

Thanks!

Bluray extention is m2ts that is for video and audio in one file.

4mv is just the video file with no audio. Change the extention to mts.

actually isn't there a way to use an h264 file in a blu-ray...

why did you need a blu-ray file.  were you planning on burning a blu-ray?  I think you'll need an authoring program to do that...

I am sure that there must be something similar on a Mac, on Windows i can right click on the file and choose "Open with" and that will give me a list of installed apps that can open the file. That is great when double clicking on a file launches the "wrong" application.
