Canon 5D Mark IV 4K Video only shows audio in Premiere Pro CS6

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM

I just purchased a Canon 5D Mark IV. I am having trouble with 4K video in Premiere Pro CS6.

Main problem: When I import the file, Premiere only shows the audio, but not video for my 4k video files.

I do not have this problem with 1080 video, only 4k. I am recording 4k at 23.98 in MJPG.

The file will play in VLC media player. I can also run it through Handbrake and output it with "production standard" settings (converting it from MOV to M4P file type), then open it with Premiere CS6. From there I am able to work with the file (both audio and video show as expected) and export it at 1080 with other 1080 files from another camera - I only intend to output at 1080 in foreseeable future.

Is there a way to open 4K video from the 5D Mark IV directly in Premiere CS6?

Is Premiere CS6 missing an important codec that VLC has?

    I uploaded 9 second clip here: Dropbox - 0I6A0499.MOV

I can open the clip in Premiere Pro CS6, After Effects CS6. (and in CC2018)

When i installed the Blackmagic codecs i used Desktop Video Installer v10.9.12. So to test, uninstall the Design Desktop Video you installed and install Desktop Video Installer v10.9.12. Sometimes it can make a difference.

Premiere Pro can edit 4K. The problem is that the codec used for your footage is not installed. Since it is MJPG i would have installed the MJPG codec provided for free by Blackmagic Design.

I used your link and installed Blackmagic Desktop Video 10.11 in hopes that the correct codec would be included. However, it did not solve the problem. I still am unable to open the 5D4 4k video in Premiere CS6 without first converting it through Handbrake.

At the time CS6 version of PrPro was created (and even last modified), there were very few cameras that could shoot in 4k, very few formats & codecs set to cover that size of image. So I'm not sure that version was designed to work with 4k media in very many formats. It's been so long since I've used it, and though I keep several versions of PrPro installed at any one time, I've got 2015, 2017, and 2018 "up" now. I haven't had CS6 for a long time. So I can't check, though I hope someone else can provide a more definitive answer.
