cant set MXF interlaced to BFF (lower field first)

Hi,

I need to export a documentary movie for a TV broadcast. Their requirements are:
• HD 1080i/25
• 1920 x 1080
• interlaced, bottom field first (BFF)
• 25 frames  / 50 fields per sec
• 16:9 or 21:9
• 4:2:2
• 50 Mbps (CBR)

The problem is there is no option to set the bottom field first for MXF. Why? Am I doing something wrong?
I can only set it for upper (or progressive).

I remember that it was possible in older releases of Premiere, but I may be wrong.

It is possible to set BFF when I am exporting to prores, but they want MXF...
Thanks for help
Dominik

Under format, select Apple ProRes MXF, and you can change the field order there. MXF is only a container, so if they didn't specify which codec they want, you can safey use the Apple ProRes MXF 422 HQ.

Sami Succar,

Note the requested specs are 50 Mbps (CBR) and ProRes is a VBR codec (though ProRes Proxy should get you under 50Mbps at 25fps HD).

You can export ProRes 25i MXF BFF through Adobe Media encoder.

But I have the same concern as Ann, BFF is extremely unusual for broadcast.

It is strange, I know, but that's what they want and as it seems Premiere is incapable to do it.

Kind of odd as upper field is usuallly the way to go with interlaced HD footage.
