Are you talking about the background of the captions?

 

For caption style settings, select a caption and look in the Essential Graphics Panel.

 

To make the background "per line" rather than all lines together, look in the Appearance section, click on the "wrench" icon, and set the Background Styles -> Fill Mode, to Per-Line.

 

To make the background corners square rather than rounded, also in that Appearance section, adjust the "corner radius" to zero.
