I have noticed something odd with CC 2019 but wanted to ask first to see if it is a bug or a feature.
Issue:
If i create a new project with Premiere Pro CC 2019 and call it Test and place it in D:\Project I will get a file named Test.prproj located in D:\Project. This is expected. But, i do also see a folder named Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save and in that folder i do also find Test.prproj with the same date stamp as the original project file. On the attached image you can see that i have Auto Save turned off.
So, i always get two identical project files for each project i create in CC 2019. One in D:\Project and a copy of that one in D:\Project\Adobe Premiere Pro Auto-Save. If i open the project and do some changes and save it both project files do update. The files share the same name as well.
Question:
This does not happen in CC 2018, so why does it happen in CC 2019 even when my Auto Save has been manually disabled?

Could be a safety feature.

I doubt it since it by default saves to the same HDD as the original project file. If it was a safety feature it should promt the user to set the auto save to another physical drive in the Project Settings.

I had not noticed this. It is mentioned in the new features:
New and enhanced features | Latest release of Premiere Pro CC
And in the user guide:
Configure preference settings in Premiere Pro
However, it says it is off by default, and it appears to be "on," even though not selected.
I have not tested what variables may have any effect. E.g. turn it on and then off.
The option does not exists in 2018.
I tested on 2019.0.1; which version are you on?

Yes, it seems to be on by default since it always saves an archived version though it´s off.( I am on 13.0.1.)
