Question

CD to DVD

I have several CDs made with earlier versions of Premiere for PC that I would like to convert to DVDs that can be viewed on a DVD player or Mac computer. Before I download and install Premiere on presently used Mac, I want it verified that I can make the new DVDs.

you could never in history put a cd into a dvd player and have that dvd player automatically detect it as a DVD or BD or anything. CD's were made due to digital music ( cd players to play music ).

Your question is misleading cause it was never made by any video editing program ( your CD's ) and you're not sure if you want to exclusively play a DVD in a DVD player OR on a mac.  They are not the same things.

Stop looking to install any advanced video editing program ( like adobe ) on your current mac to resolve this particular dream ... it's a waste of your time at this point but maybe later you'll learn more and get into video editing.

I would look into a screen capture program ( I've heard that gamers like something called OBS and so on)...

Use something like that to 'capture' what you play on your CD ( whatever it is it will go to monitor and get captured as a kind of video via just that process .... similar to what some people do here to show (illustrate ) tutorials .... how they do stuff using mouse etc... and you see the computer screen they use ).

Start with that in mind and you'll learn much faster how you want to tell your stories.

🙂

good luck

>presently used Mac

Since using CS6 with a subscription has been removed, Premiere Pro does not have any way to create a DVD

Also, Premiere Elements for Mac will no longer create a DVD

Such slideshows were often created using third party apps. What are the filetypes on the disk?

IIRC think you need the .dat file and rename the extention to mpg.

Short answer: nope.

You cannot make dvd or bd anymore with Premiere.

Dont remember Premiere ever making video CD's.

Rip the CD and convert the file to mp4.

Put the mp4 on a flash drive which you can play on your mac.
