HDD RAID 0 to SSD's

Hi, I'm running a Dell M4700 with 2 x HDD's RAID 0 and thinking of changing to 2 x SSD's.

Which format please and how best to save all my files after a clean install of Windows 10

Branded has a good response. One additional note, if you have only one m.2/Nvme connection, put the OS on a standard late-model SSD, use the m.2 connection for project files/media of the active projects.

Thanks to you both.  I now have the task of converting data from 2 HDD's configured RAID 0, to something acceptable to SSD's.  Any advice very much welcome.

That would probably be a wise thing to use a file management utility that can do checksums to do the copy from one place to another ... there are several free utilities for this, so a web search would be good.

As SSDs you typically lose a few TB of storage compared to a case stuffed with spinners, I still include a large attached spinner for general 'close' storage of things I'm not working at the moment but still want to hand. And of course, there's the stuff I've off-loaded into the network storage/backup system.

This has been my personal experience: set up a system with 3 separate SSD's:

- 1 for OS/apps (I have 512 GB); that way you can keep several versions of Adobe CC apps installed

- 1 for media (I have 1TB); dependent on size of your (future) projects, think 4K, think raw.

- 1 for temp (I have 256GB, superfast m.2)

I always store my finished projects on two identical external HDDs and only use the internal drive for work-in-progress projects.

Hope this helps.
