Change labels of clips in the Project window based on how they have been coloured in the timeline?

Hi there, I have a timeline with lots of clips that have been labelled with various colours, and it'd be nice if whenever the source of these clips are used again that they will have the same colour.

I know it's possible to label clips in the Project bins and have those display a certain colour, but what I'm wondering about is doing it the OTHER WAY round - labelling clips in a timeline, then specifying that the source clips' labels correspond to these.

Perhaps this would be possible with a plugin, or if there is a way to do 'Reveal In Project' for multiple clips at once. Then you could use the "Select Label Group' option in the timeline and then reveal those clips in the Project window and apply the same label to them manually. But I can't see that it's possible to do that.

Wondering if anyone has any workaround ideas for this?

Thanks for taking the time to do this! The issue for me is that all the clips in the timeline have been labelled with Show Source Clip Name and Label toggled OFF, so they don't correspond to the label colour in the Project window. When I toggle it ON, the clips in the timeline revert back to their old colour which isn't what I want. So what I'm trying to work out is if I can now apply all of the label colours that have been done in the Timeline window to the Project window.

Ahhh, got it. The sync occurs after you enable the option & make changes, so that's why you see it revert in the Timeline when you enable it (Label changes prior to being enabled are maintained, so that data isn't lost.).

Once it's enabled, only new Label changes in Timeline will correspond/sync in the Project panel. Which doesn't help you for what you want, sorry.

In the Timeline Display Settings (wrench) there is the option, "Show Source Clip Name and Label". This will sync all Label  changes between Timeline and Project panel. Does this meet your needs?

This is for doing it the other way round - making the timeline clips match the source. What I'm wondering is if it's possible to do the opposite of this - to make the source clips reflect the way the clips have been labelled in the timeline?
