Change to color missing from premiere pro

I do not want to use color replace, that effect sucks! I want to figure out how to get change to colour back. I use it all the time and it works really well.

Hi Kriss,

Change to Color is still available in the Obsolete folder in Premiere Pro 24.5.

It seems that this and other Obsolete effects will no longer be available in the Beta version. You can read more about it here: Obsolete Effects Removal in Beta.

Going forward, I recommend using Hue/Saturation Curves or HSL Secondary in the Lumetri Color Effect. Both should provide similar functionality, and have the advantage of being accelerated and working in 32-bit color.

It infuriates me. I used it to change a particular flat RGB from one colour to another. Now you can't. To do it in Lumetri you have to 'eyeball' the colour value to get it as close as possible. No way of doing it pasting your alternative hex or rgb. grrrr.

Yea it's annoying they've dropped some of those. Although having something like seven years notice they were going to do so, I moved away from using any Obsolete Effects many years ago. The ones I mostly miss are a couple of the grain effects, as you had control over size/bw or rgb.

There's still a Replace Color effect in Premiere. Different than the old Change To Color, but usable for many similar needs.

In the Lumetri HSL, selecting a color to change is pretty easy. But you're right, there isn't a way to drop in a hex of the color you want to get to. Which would be useful. Make an Idea request about that, maybe ... I'd sure upvote it.

Now obsolete effects is no longer in the presets of effects. Where can I find Change to color or an effect that does the same?
