Changing Pouring Water Color In Premiere Pro or After Effects

Hello! I am currenting trying to change the color of water being poured by an anchor (see pic or attachment). I was told to make it look more like coffee for so I just want to change the water to look more brown. I watched so many videos for assistance but nothing seems to work (including this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_zpKIFnJ0M). I use Premiere Pro and After Effects. Is there any way that this can be fixed for am I just wasting my time?
